Nifty Review
NIFTY again made new 52-weeks high of 6222.10. The session started with a gap up opening of almost 20-25 points and with most of the Big Boys in green (especially METALS). Small BANKING & FINANCE Stocks also kept up their northwards movement for whole of the trading session. After touching the day’s high, NIFTY reverted and made a low of 6143.40, with the stocks witnessing a good selloff. For the day, NIFTY ended the session at 6159.45.
Stock Market Review
The market was extremely choppy today with investors looking for triggers and indulging in some listless trades almost right through the session.
The markets opened firm but saw profit booking at higher levels. Buying was seen in sectors like Bank, Auto & Metal. The Sensex closed at 20,475 up by 31 points and the Nifty was at 6,160 up by 16 points after making an intra-day high of 6,222. The Mid cap and Small cap indices ended with up .69% & .33% respectively. The breadth of the market was negative and the total turnover recorded at Rs 1,35,093Cr. The Oct future ended with 18 points premium. In Bank space ICICI Bank was up by 2%, AXIS Bank was up by .29%, SBI was down by .15% & HDFC Bank was down by .23%. In Metal space, Sesa Goa was up by 5.05%, Hindalco was up by .78%, Tata Steel was up by .28% & Jindal Steel was down by .28%.
