Daily stock market & Nifty F&O Report

After a long trading days the Stock Market Shut up at 18519, with up trend by 308 points, the index touched a high and a low of 18,568.48 and 18,271.68 respectively. While nifty closed at 5551 with up 91 points, the index touched high and low of 5,564.40 and 5,472.45, respectively.

Nifty future Trend
Nifty May 2011 futures closed at 5,547.95, at a discount of 3.50 points over spot closing of 5,551.45, while Nifty June 2011 futures were at 5,562.75 at a premium of 11.30 points over spot closing. The near month May 2011 derivatives contract expires on Thursday, May 26, 2011. Nifty May futures saw addition of 0.21% or 0.05 million (mn) units, taking the total outstanding open interest (OI) to 27.80 mn units.

Nifty option Trend
For Nifty calls, 5600 strike price (SP) from the May series was the most active call with a contraction of 0.25 mn or 4.68%. Among Nifty puts, 5500 SP from the May month expiry was the most active put with an addition of 0.76 or 18.54%. The maximum Call OI outstanding was at 5600 SP (5.29) and that for Puts at 5500 SP (4.91).

Mid Day Market Analysis

The BSE Sensex gained 141.99 points or 0.74% at 19,324.81. The index touched a high and a low of 19,358.11 and 19,002.57, respectively.The BSE Mid-cap and Small-cap indices added 0.40% and 0.59%, respectively.

The top gainers on the BSE sectoral front were Information Technology (IT) up 1.52%, Healthcare (HC) up 1.30%, TECk up 1.28%, Consumer Durables (CD) up 1.23% and Bankex up 1.10%. On the flip side, Auto down 0.48%, Capital Goods (CG) down 0.36% and Realty down 0.02% were the only losers in the BSE sectoral indices.

Stock Market Report
The Nifty gained 0.54% ending at 6134.50 touching an intra day high of  6147.30 and a low of 6103.55. The Sensex too gained 0.59% ending at 20509.09 touching an intra day high of 20552.03 and a low of 20412.76.

Nifty Report
The 50-share S&P CNX Nifty finally settled at 6,134.50 after gaining 32.65 points or 0.54%. Nifty January futures saw an addition of 10.36% or 1.97 million (mn) units, taking the total outstanding open interest (OI) to 21.04 mn units. For Nifty calls, 6200 strike price (SP) from the January series was the most active call with an addition of 0.84 mn or 26.96%. Among Nifty puts, 6100 SP from the January month expiry was the most active put with an addition of 0.71 mn or 24.42%. The maximum Call OI outstanding was at 6200 SP (3.94 mn) and that for Puts at 6100 SP (3.63 mn). The respective Support and Resistance levels are: Resistance 6,153.35, Pivot Point 6,128.45 Support 6,109.60. The Nifty Put Call Ratio (PCR) OI wise stood at 1.61 for January -month contracts.

Stock Market Report

The Bombay Stock Exchange’s Sensex ended the day’s trade at 19,688.06, up 179.17points or 0.92%. The National Stock Exchange’s Nifty shut shop at 5907.65, up 50.30 points or 0.86%. The markets, after opening in the green, witnessed a steep fall on the back of heavy profit booking during the morning session. The Sensex fell as low as 19,321.41, and Nifty hit the bottom at 5,795.90.

Nifty F&O Report

The 50-share S&P CNX Nifty is trading at 5,832.25, after losing 25.10 points or 0.43%.Nifty December futures saw an addition of 7.43% or 1.85 million (mn) units, taking the total outstanding open interest (OI) to 26.84 mn units.

In Nifty calls, 5900 strike price (SP) from the December series was the most active call with an addition of 0.96 mn or 20.75%.Among Nifty puts, 5800 SP from the December month expiry was the most active put with an addition of 0.02 mn or 0.36%. The maximum Call OI outstanding was at 5900 SP (5.60 mn) and that for Puts at 5800 SP (6.96 mn).The respective Support and Resistance levels are: Resistance 5,881.30 Pivot Point 5,838.60 Support 5,789.55. The Nifty Put Call Ratio (PCR) OI wise stood at 1.08 for December-month contracts.

Nifty Future for Next Week

Nifty future

The Indian Indices once again continued their upward march and the Nifty Index managed to give a close above its 6000 mark at 6018.30 gaining 2.26% on weekly basis. On the derivatives front we have seen that the Nifty Futures prices have surged along with overall shredding of open interest and rise in the cost of carry, this is an indication of some short covering. For the coming week resistance for Nifty is seen at 6110/6185 levels, above these levels the next resistance is seen at 6260 whereas support for the index is seen at 5900/5830 levels.

Bank Nifty Future

The Bank Nifty Index last week ended with gains of 1.32% at 12263.55. On the derivatives front the Bank Nifty futures prices surged along with overall shredding of open interest in comparison to the previous week but with a rise in the cost of carry, this is an indication that the index witnessed some amount of short covering. For the coming week the Bank Nifty Index would continue to face resistance at its 12580/12774/13113 levels whereas support for the index is seen at 11880/11489 levels.
