The Stock Market BSE Index closed at 18780.56, with up trend of 2.34%, the index touched a high and a low of 18,858.30 and 18,480.69, respectively. While Nifty Index closed at 5645.25 also with up trend of 2.24%, the index touched a high of 5,667.10 and a low of 5560.95, respectively.

Nifty Future Report
Nifty March 2011 futures closed at 5,674.00 at a premium of 19.75 over spot closing of 5,654.25, while Nifty April 2011 futures were at 5,697.15 at a premium of 42.90 points over spot closing. The near month March 2011 derivatives contract expires on Thursday, March 31, 2011. Nifty March futures saw an addition of 16.37% or 3.00 million (mn) units, taking the total outstanding open interest (OI) to 21.36 mn units.

Nifty Option Report
For Nifty calls, 5600 strike price (SP) from the March series was the most active call with a contraction of 1.69 mn or 25.85%. Among Nifty puts, 5600 SP from the March month expiry was the most active put with an addition of 4.25 mn or 168.59%. The maximum Call OI outstanding was at 5600 SP (4.67) and that for Puts at 5600 SP (6.78). The respective Support and Resistance levels are: Resistance 5693.91 --Pivot Point 5,627.43--Support 5,587.76. The Nifty Put Call Ratio (PCR) OI wise stood at 1.75 for March-month contracts.

Nifty For Tomorrow

Nifty Future opened with gap but was not able to sustain at higher level and closed near to its days low. If nifty future sustain above 6200 level we can see good up rally and it can test 6300 level in near term. On the down side if it break 6100 level we can see some correction in it. One should take position after proper break out in either side. Resistance for Nifty future is at 6248/6321 and it has support at 6130/6068 levels.

RESISTANCE: It has first resistance close to the level of 6248 & above this level the next resistance is seen near the 6321 mark.
SUPPORT: It has first support close to the level of 6130 & below this level the next support is seen near 6068 mark.

Stock Option Tomorrow

On the call options front we have seen addition of open interest at strike price of 6200 and 6300.
On the put options front we have seen addition of open interest at strike price of 6100.
In January Series maximum addition of open interest on the calls front is existent at strike price of 6200-6300 indicating it as immediate resistance zone on the upside whereas on the put options front addition of open interest is seen at strike price of 6100-5800 indicating it as the immediate support on the downside.

Nifty Future Tomorrow

The Nifty closed at 5960.90 gaining 1.67%. The Nifty Futures prices ended at premium of 18.20 points vs. 24.20 points. On the open interest front the Nifty Futures saw addition of open interest by 3.55%. Thus, in a nut shell the Nifty futures prices ended in the green along with decline in the cost of carry and addition of open interest, this is an indication that some shorts are being built at higher levels. The volatility index (VIX) has shown a decline of -7.29% indicating the markets to be a bit stable.

Stock Option Tomorrow

On the call options front we have seen addition of open interest at strike price of 6100 and 6200. On the put options front we have seen addition of open interest at strike price of 5900, 5800 and 5700.
OI Chart Analysis: From the OI Chart we can see that in December Series addition of open interest on the calls front is seen at strike price of 6000-6200 indicating it as the Resistance zone on the upside whereas on the put options front we have seen addition of open interest at strike price of 5800 indicating it as good support on the down side for the coming days.

The stock is currently facing correction phase. It overall holds the bullish trend. It is expected to take an up rally after a short term correction. So buying on dip
strategy would be suggested for the stock until it crosses 1545 in downside. It faces resistance at 1620.

It is looking bullish in the coming trading session if it manages to trade above resistance level of 3066 else it has support at 3035 below this level it would be in a downward trend.

Nifty Tomorrow Technical View
The Nifty closed at 5865.75. Nifty future (Nov.) closed at 5873.25 i.e. at a  premium of 7.50 points vs. 6.55 points and shredded -2917450 shares in open interest. The Nifty future (Dec.) closed at 5886.10 i.e. at a premium of 20.35 points vs. 28.75 points and added 4867600 shares in open interest.
Interpretation: The Nifty future prices ended in the red territory along with overall addition of open interest and increase in the cost of carry, this is an indication of some long built up at lower levels. The Historical Volatility of Nifty future is at 25.55% vs. 25.76% and the India Volatility Index (VIX) is at 24.68% vs.
23.26%. Nifty OI PCR is at 0.97 vs. 1.01 and the Volume PCR is at 1.11 vs. 1.08.

On the call options front we have seen addition of open interest in Dec. Series at strike price of 6000 and 6200. On the put options front we have seen addition of  open interest in Dec. Series at strike price of 5600, 5800 and 5900.

OI Concentration Chart Interpretation: From the OI Chart we can see that in Dec. Series addition of open  interest on the calls front is seen at strike price of  6000-6200 indicating it as the Resistance zone on the upside whereas on the put options front we have seen addition of open interest at strike price of 5800-5600 indicating it as good support zone on the downside.

- The Nifty closed at 5828.70. Nifty future (Sep.) closed at 5841.90 i.e. at a premium of 13.20 points vs. discount of 0.85 points and added 587250 shares in open interest.

- The Nifty future (Oct.) closed at 5855.10 i.e. at a premium of 26.40 points vs. 9.75 points and added 405400 shares in open interest.

- Interpretation: The Nifty future prices ended in the red terrain along with overall addition of open interest and increase in the cost of carry, this is an indication of some longs being built at lower levels.

  • The Nifty closed at 5289.05. Nifty future (July) closed at 5306.90 i.e. at a premium of 17.85 points vs. 13.20 points and shredded -525050 shares in open interest.
  • The Nifty future (Aug.) closed at 5310.80 i.e. at a premium of 21.75 points vs. 18.10 points and added 39650 shares in open interest.
  • The cost of carry is at +5.35% vs. +3.83%.

On the call options front we have seen addition of open interest at strike price of 5400 and 5500 whereas shredding of open interest was witnessed at strike price of 5300.

The CNX IT index last week ended at its 5884.30 Mark gaining 1.74%. The CNX IT Futures prices surged along with increase in the cost of carry but with decline in the open interest on weekly basis, this is an indication that the index raised more on account of short covering rather than fresh long built up. For the coming week, immediate Support for the Index is seen in the range of 5800-5675 mark, below this mark the Next Support is seen at 5620/5550 mark whereas on the upside Resistance is seen at 5920/ 5970 levels.


Last Week the Nifty Index ended at 5135.50 Mark gaining 1.36%. The Nifty Futures (June) closed at a discount of 15.55 points vs. 25.55 points last week. On the derivatives front we can see that the Nifty Future prices gained along with an overall addition of open interest and increase in the cost of carry in comparison to previous week, this is an indication of some longs being built at lower levels. For the coming week immediate Support for Nifty is seen in the zone of 5040-4960, if this range is breached decisively downside pain may continue to prevail in which case Nifty may drag towards its Next Support zone of 4850/4780 whereas on the upside Resistance is seen in at 5160/5236 Mark.
