The Sensex closed at 17165, up 100 points from its previous close, and the Nifty shut shop at 5153, up 29 points.

Today BSE closed at 17165, up by 100 points, the index touched a high and a low of 17,209.66 and 16,987.37 respectively. While NSE closed at 5153 up by 29 points. The index touched high and low of 5,169.25 and 5,098.25 respectively.

Indian markets extended gains for second straight day and closed on positive note yesterday as buying activity picked up following rally in global markets. Tracking the cues from the Asian markets in the morning, the Indian markets opened positive and saw a continuous upward trend with less volatility.
