Market News
Dr Reddy's Laboratories Limited today reported a 101 per cent jump in consolidated net profit (adjusted) for the quarter ended March 2011 helped primarily by strong margins from new launches. The company's net profit for the fourth quarter stood at Rs 334.5 crore compared to Rs 166.7 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. Revenues grew 23 per cent to Rs 2,017 crore from Rs 1,642.4 crore.

For the full year 2010-11, net profit grew 16.8 per cent to Rs 1,076.2 crore compared with Rs 921.4 crore in the previous year even though there was a moderate rise of six per cent in revenues, which stood at Rs 7,469.3 crore (Rs 7,027.7 crore).The company had a consolidated net profit of Rs 166.7 crore in the same period previous previous fiscal.

The company has also decided to invest Rs 800-850 crore for expanding some of the manufacturing facilities in India and the US this year, Reddy said.

The Sensex closed at 19545, down 39 points from its previous close, and Nifty shut shop at 5868, down 6 points, The market held the positive zone in mid-afternoon trade but slipped into the red in late trade. The Sensex and Nifty closed with losses of 0.1% and 0.2%, respectively.

Nifty April 2011 futures closed at 5,875.00, at a premium of 6.60 points over spot closing of 5,868.40, while Nifty May 2011 futures were at 5,905.00 at a premium of 36.60 points over spot closing. The near month April 2011 derivatives contract expires on Thursday, April 28, 2011. Nifty April futures saw an addition of 5.82% or 1.23 million (mn) units, taking the total outstanding open interest (OI) to 22.55 mn units.

For Nifty calls, 5,900 strike price (SP) from the April series was the most active call with an addition of 1.39 mn or 20.23%. Among Nifty puts, 5800 SP from the April month expiry was the most active put with an addition of 0.26 mn or 3.71%. The maximum Call OI outstanding was at 5900 SP (8.31) and that for Puts at 5800 SP (7.54).

Nifty February 2011 futures closed at 5,476.10, at a premium of 6.90 over spot closing of 5,469.20, while Nifty March 2011 futures were at 5,490.50, at a premium of 21.30 points over spot closing. The near month February 2011 derivatives contract expire on Thursday, February 24, 2011. Nifty February futures saw an addition of 8.64% or 2.02 million (mn) units, taking the total outstanding open interest (OI) to 25.44 mn units.

Nifty Options Review
For Nifty calls, 5500 strike price (SP) from the February series was the most active call with an addition of 1.64 mn or 22.46%. Among Nifty puts, 5500 SP from the February month expiry was the most active put with a contraction of 0.40mn or 5.33%.

Today Market was closed again with with possitive eye, Market has four consucative possitive trend for last sessions. Nifty - 50 Index was closed at 5546, up with 64 point, while BSE 30 sensex closed at 180506 with up 205 points. The index touched a high and a low of 18,532.61 and 18,233.79, respectively. Market breadth was possitive.

Nifty Future Review
The 50-share S&P CNX Nifty finally settled at 5,546.45 after gaining 64.75 points.Nifty February 2011 futures closed at 5,549.95, at a premium of 3.50 over spot closing of 5,546.45, while Nifty March 2011 futures were at 5,570.90, at a premium of 24.45 points over spot closing. The near month February 2011 derivatives contract expire on Thursday, February 24, 2011. Nifty February futures saw an addition of 10.21% or 2.62 million (mn) units, taking the total outstanding open interest (OI) to 28.32 mn units.

Nifty Options Review
For Nifty calls, 5500 strike price (SP) from the February series was the most active call with a contraction of 0.67 mn or 8.73%. Among Nifty puts, 5400 SP from the February month expiry was the most active put with an addition of 2.34 mn or 29.89%.

It earlier touched a day's low of 19,167 and a high of 19,437 after opening at 19,230.In the broader market, the BSE Small-Cap index and the BSE Mid-Cap index are up about 0.4% and 0.3% respectively.On the other hand, the NSE Nifty was up 84 points at 5,836 after touching a day's high of 5,835 and a days low of 5,754. It opened at 5,789.

The 50-share S&P CNX Nifty settled at 5,830.00, after garnering 78.05 points or 1.36%.Nifty December futures saw an addition of 4.48% or 1.11 million (mn) units, taking the total outstanding open interest (OI) to 26.04 mn units.

In Nifty calls, 6000 strike price (SP) from the December series was the most active call with an addition of 0.44 mn or 7.49%.Among Nifty puts, 5700 SP from the December month expiry was the most active put with an addition of 0.75 mn or 13.96%. In Nifty calls, 6000 strike price (SP) from the December series was the most active call with an addition of 1.00 mn or 20.81%.Among Nifty puts, 5700 SP from the December month expiry was the most active put with an addition of 0.66 mn or 13.24%. The maximum Call OI outstanding was at 6000 SP (5.83 mn) and that for Puts at 5700 SP (5.71 mn).The respective Support and Resistance levels are: Resistance 5,846.32 Pivot Point 5,768.33 Support 5,698.17. The Nifty Put Call Ratio (PCR) OI wise stood at 1.35 for December-month contracts.

TCS up 2.17%, Cipla up 1.58%, SBI up 1.20%, Tata Power up 0.55% and ONGC up 0.54% were the major gainers on the Sensex. On the other hand, JP Associates down 8.26%, R Infra down 7.28%, R Com down 5.80%, Tata Motors down 3.61% and M&M down 3.23% were the major laggards on the index.

M&M up 3.23%, Bharti Airtel up 1.17%, Tata Steel up 0.54%, ITC up 0.17% and Tata Motors up 0.11% were the only gainers on the Sensex.On the other hand, SBI down 3.71%, DLF down 3%, ICICI Bank down 2.73%, TCS down 2.73% and HDFC down 2.67% were the major laggards on the index. FMCG up 0.04% was the only gainers on the BSE sectoral space, while Realty down 3.34%, Bankex down 2.94%, PSU down 1.88%, CG down 1.43% and IT down 1.34% were the major laggards on the BSE sectoral space.

Reliance Industries Ltd
The stock is rangebound between 925-1185. It is in a downtrend in short to medium term. It has support at 950. Hold with a stop loss of 920.The earnings were good with the company reporting a 23 per cent growth in revenue. Buy at 950 levels with a target of 1350.

Polaris Software Lab Ltd
The stock is in a downtrend and is trading below its 200 day moving average. The short term averages are below the long term averages. The stock has strong support at 140 levels.The company’s 85-90 per cent business comes from the BFSI (banking, financial and insurance sector) sector which is doing well. It is trading close to the previous lows of 150 after correction. Buy with a target of 200 in medium term.

Hero Honda Motors Ltd
The stock has been an outperformer over the last week and is forming higher tops and bottoms on the weekly charts. The stock looks strong in the medium term. Hold with a stop loss of 1825 for a target of 2300. The stock has resistance at 2075 levels. Though bike sales are brisk, earnings indicate margin pressure. The stock has resistance at 2075 levels. Book partial profits and wait for dips to buy.

The Nifty, on its way up, faces strong resistance at 6,029 points. If the Nifty closes above this level, it would be the first indication of the beginning of a rally, which has a target of 6,187. At current levels, this means a gain of roughly 300 points. On its way down last week, the Nifty saw decent support at 5,864, which was very close to the level of 5,856 mentioned in my last column. Strong support for the Nifty has now shifted to 5,712.

The stock has been an underperformer in the current market rally. It is making lower tops and bottoms on the charts and is trading below its 200 day moving average.The stock has not performed. The telecom sector as a whole has under pressure because of the CAG report. Shift to Idea Cellular.

Man Infraconstruction Ltd
The results have been good but there are doubts over execution capabilities as cost and time overruns can impact margins. Shift to IRB infra that has emerged as the preferred company in 2-3 states. It has good margins and a robust order book. The stock has made a double top on the daily chart at 380 levels. It has broken the key support of 328 and can test lower levels of 280.

The BSE Sensex lost 24.29 points or 0.12% to settle at 20,331.34 while the S&P CNX Nifty shed 4.80 points or 0.08% to end at 6,112.75.

The BSE Sensex touched a high and a low of 20,418.35 and 20,324.79 respectively. There were 12 advances against 18 declines on the index.
Finally, the BSE Sensex slipped 9.94 points or 0.05% to settle at 20,345.69 while the S&P CNX Nifty added 1.45 points or 0.02% to end at 6119.

The BSE Sensex touched a high and a low of 20,418.35 and 20,281.73, respectively. ACC up 4.20%, L&T up 2.53%, Wipro up 2.49%, Tata Steel up 0.94%, and ITC up 0.90% were the major gainers on the Sensex.

Nifty Future & Option Report

The 50-share S&P CNX Nifty closed at 6,119.00, tad higher by 1.45 points or 0.02%. Nifty November futures saw an addition of 3.96% or 0.99 million (mn) units, taking the total outstanding open interest (OI) to 26.19 mn units.

Nifty calls, 6200 strike price (SP) from the November series was the most active call with an addition of 0.46 mn or 11.13%. Market Review

The BSE Sensex zoomed 323.29 points or 1.61% to settle at 20,355.63 while the S&P CNX Nifty surged 99.85 points or 1.66% to end at 6117.55. The BSE Sensex touched a high and a low of 20,609.65 and 20,267.10, respectively. ICICI Bank up 5.97%, M&M up 4.65%, JP Associates up 3.62%, HDFC up 3.16% and DLF up 3.10% were the major gainers on the Sensex.

The Nifty took support at its 40-DMA and is also trading above its crucial 20-DMA, which indicates an upside in the short term. But the index may face some resistance around 6152 range which is recent high, if it manages to break that, 6280 level is also possible in near term .

Nifty future & Option Review

The 50-share S&P CNX Nifty is trading at 6,118.85, after surging 101.15 points or 1.68%.  Nifty November futures saw an addition of 8.29% or 2.01 million (mn) units, taking the total outstanding open interest (OI) to 26.36 mn units.  

For Nifty calls, 6200 strike price (SP) from the November series was the most active call with a contraction of 0.07 mn or 1.77%. Among Nifty puts, 6100 SP from the November month expiry was the most active put with an addition of 1.68 mn or 68.40%. The maximum Call OI outstanding was at 6200 SP (4.17 mn) and that for Puts at 6100 SP (4.14 mn).  The respective Support and Resistance levels are: Resistance 6,135.95 Pivot Point 6,110.35 Support 6,093.25.

The Nifty Put Call Ratio (PCR) OI wise stood at 1.23 for November-month contracts.

Stocks Market Trend of The Day

The BSE Sensex slipped 81.73 points or 0.40% to settle at 20,221.39 while the S&P CNX Nifty fell 24.35 points or 0.40% to end at 6,081.45.

The BSE Sensex touched a high and a low of 20,344.68 and 20,189.30 respectively. There were 11 advances against 19 declines on the index.

The market edged higher in early trade on firm Asian equities and extended gains in morning trade. Markets erased some of the mid-session gains and slipped in early afternoon session. However, the market regained strength in mid-afternoon trade, with rally seen across high-beta metal, realty, consumer durables, cement and auto stocks. The market maintained its buoyant performance to end the day in green, with the Sensex and Nifty gaining 0.7% each. BSE mid-cap and   small-cap indices closed with gains of 0.8% and 1%, respectively. Among the front liners, Cipla, Sterlite, Tata Motors, ACC and Hindalco Ind. gained 2–4%. Among the top losers, Tata Power, HDFC Bank, ITC, Infosys and Wipro lost 0.3–4%.

Nifty Futures & Options Review

Finally, the 50-share S&P CNX Nifty settled at 6,082, after losing 23.80 points or 0.39%.Nifty October futures saw an addition of 15.70% or 3.47 million (mn) units, taking the total outstanding open interest (OI) to 25.64 mn units.

For Nifty calls, 6100 strike price (SP) from the October series was the most active call with an addition of 0.32 mn or 5.75%.Among Nifty puts, 6100 SP from the October month expiry was the most active put with a contraction of 0.53 mn or 10.54%. The maximum Call OI outstanding was at 6100 SP (5.94 mn) and that for Puts at 6100 SP (5.65 mn).The respective Support and Resistance levels are: Resistance 6,109.95 Pivot Point 6,092.30 Support 6,064.35. The Nifty Put Call Ratio (PCR) OI wise stood at 1.24 for October-month contracts.

TCS Going Well After Q2 Result

In case some body wants to make a long term entry in TCS and if he waits for few more weeks, stock would be trading higher at Rs 1100-1150. That is the short term price target, says Mitesh Thacker, Technical Analyst, miteshthacker.com.
The key benchmark indices edged lower amid high volatility, tracking weak European stocks and lower US index futures, as caution prevailed ahead of G-20 meet. Volatility was high as traders rolled over positions in the derivatives segment from the near-month October 2010 series to November 2010 series ahead of the expiry of the October 2010 contracts next Thursday, 28 October 2010. The BSE 30-share Sensex was down 94.72 points or 0.47% off close to 185 points from the day's high and up close to 80 points from the day's low.
TCS hit record high after reporting forecast-beating Q2 result. But, Wipro slumped after reporting Q2 results that came in below market expectations. Shares of IT bellwether Infosys gained. Index heavyweight Reliance Industries (RIL) edged higher in volatile trade. The market breadth was negative, in contrast with a strong breadth earlier in the day. High beta metal and realty stocks fell. FMCG stocks also declined.

Wipro Not Good After Q2 Result

Wipro ended 4.54 percent lower at Rs.448.40 after the company, hit by forex losses and salary hikes, posted only a 10 percent rise in net profits for the quarter ended Sep 30. Wipro Ltd, the country's third-largest software exporter, today announced a lower-than-expected 9.75% growth in consolidated net profit at Rs1,284.90 crore for the second quarter, sending the company's stock price down 4.5% to about Rs 448 by the end of trading. Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) shares jumped 5.75% to a record high of Rs1,040 after its quarterly profit exceeded forecasts.In the corresponding quarter last year, Wipro had recorded a net profit of Rs1,170.70 crore, the company informed the Bombay Stock Exchange, PTI reports.

The BSE Sensex touched a high and a low of 20,043.82 and 19,822.66, respectively. Tata Power up 1.16%, NTPC up 0.91%, L&T up 0.54%, RIL up 0.46% and ONGC up 0.39% were the major gainers on the Sensex.

Nifty October futures saw an addition of 3.97% or 1.04 million (mn) units, taking the total outstanding open interest (OI) to 27.47 mn units.For Nifty calls, 6100 strike price (SP) from the October series was the most active call with an addition of 0.57 mn or 9.15%. mong Nifty puts, 6000 SP from the October month expiry was the most active put with an addition of 0.35 mn or 4.27%. Market report for the Day

The BSE Sensex shelved 205.08 points or 0.99% to settle at 20,482.80 (Provisional) while the S&P CNX Nifty shed 62.65 points or 1% to end at 6171.25 (Provisionally).
The BSE Sensex touched a high and a low of 20,854.55 and 20,442.82 respectively. There were 1136 advances against 1877 declines on the index.
Markets further extended gains in late trade, with the Sensex and Nifty closing with gains of 2.4% and 2.3%, respectively. BSE mid-cap and small-cap indices underperformed the key benchmark indices, closing with gains of 1.0% and 1.1%, respectively. Among the front liners, HDFC, TCS, Wipro, L&T and Jaiprakash Associates gained 4–5%, while NTPC lost 1.3%. Among mid caps, Apollo Hospitals, MVL, Infotech Enterprises, Vijaya Bank, State Bank of Bikaner and Jaipur gained 5–10%, while Jagran Prakashan, IPCA Labs, Info Edge India, Man Infra and Shree Global Trading lost 2–3%.
Indian markets surged to hit 33-month closing highs yesterday as world stocks rose on growing expectations that the US Federal Reserve will take further measures to boost the slowing economic recovery and continued foreign fund inflows. All sectoral indices closed positive with IT, capital goods, real estate and FMCG stocks were major gainers.
Wipro up 2.09%, Tata Steel up 1.96%, Infosys up 1.07%, Tata Motors up 0.54% and Jindal Steel up 0.01% were the major gainers on the Sensex (Provisional). On the other hand, Reliance Communication down 3.29%, L&T down 3.19%, NTPC down 2.47%, Reliance Infra down 2.27% and M&M down 2.14% remained the major laggards on the index.

Stock Market Review

The Sensex closed at 20,687 up 484 points and the Nifty was at 6,233 up 143 points after making an intra-day high of 6,240. The Mid cap and Small cap indices were up by 1.02% and 1.07% respectively. The breadth of the market was very strong and the total turnover recorded at Rs 1,82,640Cr. The Oct future ended with 41 points premium.In FMCG space HUL was up by 3.51%, ITC was up by 2.79% while Dabur was down by 1.70%.

Finally, in late afternoon session, the key benchmark indices partially recovered the losses and the Sensex and Nifty each closed down by 0.7%. BSE midcap index’s performance was in line with key benchmark indices as it closed down by 0.5%,  while there was no change in the small-cap index. Among the front liners, M&M, RCOM, TCS, ICICI Bank and Tata Motors gained 0–1%, while DLF, Hindalco Inds, Jindal Steel, L&T and Jaiprakash Associates were down 1–2%. Among mid caps, MRF, Novartis India, M&M Finance, Emami and Unichem Lab. gained 4–7%, while CMC, JM Financial, India Infoline, Binani Cement and Praj Industries lost 4–10%.

The start of the markets was positive tracking the gains in the global markets but momentum that the markets got from the very beginning remained intact throughout the session and the indices at no point of time showed any sign of losing it.

Market Overview

The BSE Sensex slipped by 228 points to close at 20,315. The NSE Nifty fell 66 points to close at 6,120.

The key benchmark indices extended losses to hit fresh intraday lows in late trade as profit taking emereged after the market scaled 33-month high on Wednesday, 6 October 2010. IT, metal, realty and banking stocks led the decline. The market breadth turned weak, in contrast with strong breadth earlier in the day. Index heavyweight Reliance Industries reversed initial gains. The BSE 30-share Sensex was provisionally down 235.21 points or 1.14 %, off close to 275 points from the day's high and up close to 35 points from the day's low.

Nifty Review

NSE's volatility index, India VIX, a gauge of traders' perception of near-term risks in the market based on options prices, rose 3.31% at 22.45. The index had declined 1.98% to 21.73 on Wednesday, 6 October 2010. The index had fallen 2.76% to 22.17 on Tuesday, 5 October 2010. It had risen 6.39% to 22.80 on Monday, 4 October 2010. The index had dropped 3.68% to 21.43 on Friday, 1 October 2010. India VIX is calculated based on the S&P CNX Nifty options prices. India VIX is a measure of the market's expectation of volatility over the next 30 calendar days.

Market Review
The BSE Sensex closed at 19,208, up 408 point or 2.17% from the previous close. It had earlier been as high as 19,243 after opening at day's low of 18,845.
The NSE Nifty closed 119 points up or 2% at 5,759 after touching a high of 5,770. It opened at day's low of 5,639.

Nifty future Trend For This
The indices last week continued to escalate to test new 52 weeks high of 5647.45. The Nifty ended with gains of nearly 3% and closed at 5640.05. On the derivatives front we can see that the Nifty futures prices surged along with an overall addition of open interest but decline in the cost of carry in comparison to the previous week, this is an indication of some shorts being built at higher levels. For the coming week Nifty immediate support continues to exist in the zone of 5600-5550, below 5550 the next support range is seen at 5500-5472 mark whereas on the upside strong resistance is seen in the range of 5650-5750.
